In Book 4, we follow the ovoid on its civilization-seeding mission around the globe. The silver-white spaceship begins in the Arctic Circle, in the island archipelago above Norway called Svalbard.
In the summer of 2025 I traveled from the Orkney Islands north of Scotland over to Norway and up the fjords to Svalbard. Along the way, I dreamed up The Journey to Svalbard—a playful retelling of my trip as if I were tracing the path of the qaraq’s ovoid.
