Author Bio & Photos
Short Bio (50-100 words)
Stephen Weinstock is the author of 1001: The Reincarnation Chronicles, a finalist for the Best Books Award in Multi-Cultural Fiction. As an experimental music theater creator, he has adapted Italo Calvino’s Cosmicomics and pioneered NYU’s Musical Theater Writing program. A musician for dance institutions like Juilliard and UC Berkeley, he now writes full-time in New York’s Hudson Valley, determined to complete his genre-bending series before reincarnating as a temple elephant.
Medium Bio (150-250 words)
Before diving into 1001: The Reincarnation Chronicles, STEPHEN WEINSTOCK composed music for theater companies and choreographers, working with institutions like UC Berkeley, Juilliard, and the ‘Fame’ school. His theater pieces include the experimental Mt. Quad and the musical Rock and Roy (with Barry Jay Kaplan), about Rock Hudson’s double life.
Weinstock’s fascination with reincarnation led him to craft a novel that intricately explores the past life connections of a qaraq of souls. Inspired by The Thousand and One Nights, the series weaves together fantasy, historical fiction, and cosmic imagination. Now fully immersed in the world of metempsychosis and literary storytelling, he continues his creative journey from the Hudson Valley.
